Why APM’s Alkylphenol Tackifying Resin ?

Our resin improves the performance of chloroprene rubber adhesives and is used as a tackifier and adhesion promoter. APM’s resin contributes the following to neoprene cements :
  • In chloroprene rubber adhesives,

    • As a tackifier and adhesion promoter.
    • Improves adhesion to metal, glass and other rigid non-porous substrates.
    • Inhibition of acid formation in the aging of neoprene.
    • Improves viscosity stability of the rubber solution.
    • Improves elevated temperature performance.
    • Improves phasing/flocculation resistance.
    • Inhibits acid formation in the ageing of neoprene.
  • In varnishes and industrial baking enamels,

    • Fortifies rosin, ester gum and other low-cost resins. Improves drying speed, toughness, durability of rosin/rosin esters varnishes
    • Soluble in all the common drying oils.
    • Greatly accelerates viscosity increase rate during cooking with slow-bodying oils.
    • Gives relatively light-coloured, stable, gel-free varnishes.
